Attorney Thomas Kohler
Thomas Kohler earned his Bachelor's Degree from Brigham Young University, in English with minors in both Business and Spanish. He graduated from the University of Arizona, James E. Rogers College of Law where he focused his studies on criminal trial practice. During law school, Mr. Kohler interned as a law clerk for The Honorable Jeffery Klotz, Judge of Tucson City Court. Mr. Kohler's research for Judge Klotz into jury trial rights has been of great use and continues to serve Mr. Kohler and his clients well, especially in light of upcoming challenges to jury trial rights in DUI cases.
Prior to coming to the Knowles Law Firm, Mr. Kohler spent 4 years with the Maricopa County Attorney's Office. Mr. Kohler has extensive experience with a vast array of cases including; Driving Under the Influence, Criminal Speeding, Drug Possession, Drug Sales, Assault, Theft,
Trafficking in Stolen Property,
Forgery, and Burglary.
Mr. Kohler is familiar with the various forms of surveillance used by law enforcement as well as the ways prosecutors use surveillance information in trial. Mr. Kohler is versed in all matters pertaining to challenging searches and seizures, securing modifications of release conditions, and challenging grand jury indictments.
Mr. Kohler speaks fluent Spanish, which he learned as a child from living abroad in Honduras and Argentina, and then, as a young adult while living in Venezuela. He is married and has 2 beautiful children.
