In the state of Arizona, local authorities say that a homeless man was placed under arrest for stabbing his girlfriend who is also homeless. As a result of the stabbing, the man's girlfriend is in critical condition and doctors remain uncertain as to whether or not she will survive her injuries.
According to the police report, the 37-year-old man was detained when officers were able to obtain eyewitness testimony about the stabbing. There were several witnesses who told police that the suspect had been fighting with his 48-year-old girlfriend when he suddenly pulled out a knife and assaulted her. Instead of getting help, the suspect then ran away from the scene of the violent crime but was detained just a few blocks away. When police ran a background check on him, they learned that he was wanted on a misdemeanor warrant. Now, he is also facing charges for attempted murder.
