Woman Smuggled Drugs into Jail
One woman was visiting a friend in jail when she found herself in handcuffs.
The 39-year-old woman was discovered smuggling narcotics and other prison contraband while visiting a facility in Arizona last week. At some point during her visit, prison personnel had reason to believe that she was up to no good. They did a search and located two balloons containing a hard black substance. After testing the mystery rocks, they were later determined to be heroin.
The woman now faces two counts of promoting prison contraband and two counts of possession of narcotics. She is just one of several women recently who has been caught attempting to bring drugs into the prison. One woman who was caught committing a similar drug crime was sentenced to three years behind bars herself.
