Robber Steals Oxycodone from Local Walgreens
A man is facing robbery charges after he committed theft crimes at a Walgreens located at Peoria Avenue in Phoenix. Allegedly, the 21 year old robbed the store so he could obtain oxycodone.
Police say that the defendant is currently on probation and that he managed to jump over a pharmacy counter on May 21st. After making his way over the counter, he demanded that the pharmacist on-site supply him with the drug.
Once the pharmacist followed his orders, the defendant jumped back over the counter and fled the store. Employees contacted police shortly thereafter.
Officers say that the suspect was booked on numerous charges including aggravated assault,
robbery and
kidnapping.
