Police Catch Nurse Engaged in Internet Sex Crimes
Since the internet has proven to be a playground for sex crimes police posing as underage victims are often the people trolling online chat rooms, not actual children.
Using this undercover technique police were able to catch 39-year-old Richard Sangalang, a nurse at Banner Hospital and a pedophile. In court documents examined by the New Times, Sangalang was taken into custody on Friday after he attempted to meet up with a 15-year-old girl for sex. Police started monitoring him on Feb. 22 and later followed him to an arranged meet-up spot. When he showed up they were able to arrest him for sex crimes.
During his online chats Sangalang did identify himself as an adult and sent the "girl" photos of his car and himself. He contacted the girl three times in one week and kept trying to arrange a meet-up for sexual relations. Sangalang has been charged with three counts of attempting to lure a minor for sexual exploitations.
