Online Prostitution Ring Busted

An online prostitution ring finally met its match this week - the New Mexico police department.

According to police reports the prostitution ring has been under investigation for some time now, but police and faculty members were surprised to learn that its leader is F. Chris Garcia, 71. As a long-time member of the University of New Mexico faculty - even serving as president between 2002 and 2003 - it came as a shock was Garcia was arrested last week.

After investigating the professor secretly, officers were able to obtain enough information to provide Garcia with search warrants for his house and office. It was there that they found evidence of his involvement with the Southwest Companions website. In fact, Garcia was a member of the site's "Hunt Club," a cheeky name for those people who search for and recruit new prostitutes. He now faces multiple charges for sex crimes.
