Undocumented Immigrant Arrested for Drug Crimes
On Thursday evening, officers from a local Phoenix police department say that they made an arrest in a drug crime case. The suspect that was arrested was an undocumented immigrant that hailed from Jamaica. During the arrest, police say they managed to obtain over 650 pounds of marijuana as well as $380,000 in U.S. currency.
Reports indicate that the suspect is a 32-year-old male and that this was the police department's third arrest of undocumented immigrants from Jamaica in the past two months.
Back in June, officers managed to confiscate 1,000 pounds of marijuana as well as $1 million in cash during a drug investigation. Police also seized 17 vehicles that were being used by the suspects who were posing as package delivery drivers.
At this time, police are still concluding investigations and more information is expected to be released as the main suspects are in custody.
