Baby Dies after Being Shook by Father
A disheartening case has been reported by news sources in Phoenix, Arizona. According to reports, a 25-year-old father has been charged with the murder of his 5-month-old daughter. Police told news sources that the father is believed to have shaken his daughter so violently that she later died from injuries.
Officers say that the child had been sleeping on the father's chest for several hours when he woke up to find her on the floor. It is believed that he then picked his daughter off of the floor and shook her very hard. Police report that he did this because he was mad at himself for falling asleep while his daughter was lying with him. At the time of the incident, the mother was not home.
The next day, the child's parents went to the hospital because they noticed she had suffered injuries. While at the hospital, the father admitted to shaking his daughter. Physicians reported that the girl succumbed to her injuries on August 15th.
