Cold Case Has Leads
A cold case may be heating up in Phoenix, now that police believe to have in custody the man responsible for a double homicide from ten years ago.
Police reports show that Abel Hidalgo was taken into custody on April 14 for the murder of Jose Rojas and Michael Cordova. The two men were discovered shot dead inside E&G Auto Body on Jan. 3, 2001. Although he was brought in for questioning a year later, no charges were ever filed against him. When cold case detectives reopened the case, they found reason to speak to Hidalgo again. This time he confessed to his role in the murders.
He is now being held at the Federal Correctional Institution in Tucson where he is already serving a sentence for three murders in Idaho.
