Officer Arrested for Domestic Violence

In the city of Phoenix, authorities say that a police officer is in jail after a witness reported that he was involved in a domestic violence dispute.

On Sunday at approximately 11:45 PM, officers had to respond to a 911 call after a witness said that 29-year-old Sutton Wohlman was allegedly choking a female victim.  It is said that the witness tried to intervene in the assault before calling authorities.

When the first officer arrived at the scene, Wohlman was detained and placed in handcuffs.  However, additional officers were called to take him into custody.

Police say that Wohlman had to be taken to a local hospital to be treated for an injury to his fore head that he sustained during the altercation.  They believe alcohol may have been involved prior to the dispute.

After receiving treatment, Wohlman was booked into jail.  He is now facing criminal charges for resisting arrest as well as aggravated assault.
