Police Find Hit and Run Suspect
In Peoria, Arizona, local police officers say that tips from the public helped them find the suspect who caused a hit-and-run accident as well as the death of a teenager.
Supposedly, Joey Romero had been walking home from his job at the 99 Cents Store which is located at 83rd and Thunderbird Road. On October 29th, Romero was hit by a motor vehicle that drove up onto the sidewalk where he was walking. Instead of stopping to check on Romero, the driver fled the scene of the accident.
The very next day, officers received tips that led them to the home of Laura Flanders. At the home, officers saw the suspect's vehicle. They conducted an interview with Flanders and then impounded her car which may be released pending further investigation.
After police finished their investigation they arrested Flanders. She is expected to be charged with manslaughter as well as leaving the scene of a collision involving a death.
