Auto Theft Ends in Police Chase
This week, a police chase that took place in the city of Phoenix ended with one man in police custody after officers forced him to surrender at gunpoint. The man was taken into police custody at a residence on 18th Avenue which is just south of Indian School Road.
Officers said that in an attempt to escape law enforcement, the man left his vehicle after driving through residential neighborhoods in Phoenix. The offender, as well as another individual who is disabled and was also in the car during a police chase, were breaking into cars throughout the Metro Center region of the state.
The offender who left the car jumped a fence and tried to hide inside of a Phoenix resident. At this time, it is not clear if the person that was in a wheelchair was placed under arrest. No one was injured during the chase.
