Police End 30 Year Old Murder Investigation
Recently in Phoenix, a man was placed under arrest after police connected him to the disappearance of a woman who has been missing for over 30 years.
The family of Alison Mims has been wondering for three decades what happened to the 19-year-old who was last seen leaving her mother's wedding reception in 1980. The family said that she left with her best friend's boyfriend, Patrick Ryon.
Even though Ryon was the last person to be seen with the victim, officers were never able to link him to her this appearance.
In October, Ryon was arrested in New Mexico and was then booked into the Fourth Avenue Jail. While the case had many twists and turns throughout the years, law enforcement officers were finally able to make their arrest after Mims' remains were found in February.
After police located her remains, the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office took over the murder investigation and placed Ryon under arrest. Now he is facing charges for killing and sexually assaulting the victim.
