This week, it was reported that a woman who was accused of stealing luggage from Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport will have to spend five years on probation and 3 1/2 years in prison.
Back in June, 39-year-old Stacy King pled guilty to charges which included two counts of theft, one count of trafficking in stolen property and one count of possession of dangerous drugs. At her sentencing hearing, she was also ordered to pay over $86,000 in restitution to her victims,
King and her 62-year-old husband, Keith King, allegedly stole hundreds of bags from airport passengers between December 2005 and November 2009. In 2009, a police officer watched Keith King enter the airport, take a bag and then leave. Officers then searched their home and found hundreds of bags and various prescription drugs.
The Kings were indicted on 45 counts related to the airport thefts and were accused of taking bags from 22 passengers of four separate airlines.
